Bygone Days - Cyril Critchlow: The man who dreamed of a Museum
Blackpool Museum Curator Emma Heslewood explores the life of Cyril Critchlow, a Blackpool magician, hotelier and local councillor who had a life long passion for the history of Blackpool and dreamed of creating a museum, amassing a huge collection of material on the town’s theatres and entertainment.
The talk includes a chance to see Cyril’s Stan Laurel’s hat given to him in 1947 and newly discovered footage of Cyril talking about his entertainment museum in the 1980s.
Bygone Days talks are free of charge and take place in the Brunswick Room at Blackpool Central Library.
