Congratulations on starting your Artsmark journey. Curious Minds is delighted to be able to support you through the process of gaining the Artsmark Award.
Artsmark Development Day
The Development Day is a practical immersive day for a Senior Leader (ideally the Head) and the arts lead to work alongside other schools and the Artsmark trainer to explore and start to strategically plan your Artsmark Journey linked to your School Improvement Plan. On the day you will begin to write your Statement of Commitment, which will gain you Artsmark status.
At most Development Days there will be the opportunity to hear from a local cultural provider who can outline how they can support you on your Artsmark journey, as well as the opportunity to meet other schools in your area to create an informal Artsmark Network.
Ideally, we would ask you to attend the event nearest to your school as we are hoping to support the development of an informal Artsmark school network with other Artsmark schools and cultural organisations in their area.
Checklist for the day
Please book two places including one for your Head teacher or Senior Leader and arts lead
Please outline any Dietary requirements on this Eventbrite
Please complete the Artsmark Self- Assessment tool with colleagues before the day. Please follow link for a copy of the Artsmark Self – Assessment Tool
Please bring a copy of your School Improvement Plan and any specific Arts Actions plans or useful documents to help you plan your journey on the day.
Please note: As this is the start of strategic plan development for your whole schools Artsmark journey, Arts Council England and Curious Minds ask that the Head or a member of the SMT attend the Development Day. It will involve making decisions that cannot usually be made by the Arts co-ordinator, such as identifying priorities linked to your SIP, partnership development, as well as allocating resources and staff CPD and whole staff meeting time.
Lunch and refreshments will be served on the day.
