Join us and be inspired by observing one of the best school playtimes in the country – where kids get muddy, build dens, take risks, explore, experiment and achieve every single day!This event is for headteachers from schools interested in starting the OPAL Primary Programme. If the head is unable to attend, please send a suitable deputy. We allow for two tickets per school, so you are also welcome to bring a member of your teaching staff.Agenda12pm–1pm Observation of playtimeCome and see an outstanding OPAL playtime in action - ask the children about how they manage risk and the grown-ups about the changes they have seen.1pm–1:30pm Blackford's OPAL journeyHear from the headteacher and other staff about their OPAL journey and learn more about the OPAL Primary Programme.1:30pm–2:15pm Introduction to OPALAn introduction to the OPAL Primary Programme from Ingrid Wilkinson - OPAL North East director. This is a chance to find out more and to ask any questions you may have.2:15pm Evaluation and closeAbout Blackford CE Primary SchoolBlackford is a small, thriving OPAL school located in a village just a few miles outside Carlisle. Over the past two years, enthusiastic and dedicated staff have transformed playtimes to include a wide variety of wonderful areas and activities for the children to enjoy. They now make full use of their grounds, including a large field, and have put systems in place to ensure that playtimes run smoothly and are full of fun. Whether you are a small or large school from Cumbria (or beyond), come along to see the transformation.Additional informationTea and coffee will be available.You can bring your lunch with you as there will be an opportunity to eat while listening to the presentations in the afternoon.Parking is available on the road outside of the school grounds.Only two tickets per school.
