Coffee with the Doulas is a free event open to our community to connect with local Doulas and resources for pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and beyond. Feel free to come with questions or a friend!

Meet Karen!
“I am a licensed reflexologist and a registered and licensed occupational therapist. I have worked with infants and children for 40 years as a pediatric OT and now as a CranioSacral therapist for over 20 years. I have specialty training in pediatric CranioSacraltherapy/ CSTthrough the Upledger Institute and I am a teaching assistant a couple times a year for their courses. I mentor area therapists who are starting their training in CST and I lead a local study group for CST. 
 
Treating infants is my passion – especially those with tethered oral tissues, body tension, torticollis, plagiocephaly, brachycephaly, scaphocephaly, brachial plexus injury, Erb’s palsy, colic, reflux, oral-motor dysfunction, and sleep issues. I also have training in myofascial release, Baby Begin re-positioning and stretching program, Lori Hendrickson infant cranial protocols and fascial stretching for torticollis and oral functioning, several webinars in tethered oral tissues, hands-on feeding course work, certification in Sensory Integration/Processing, and Carol Gray fascial unwinding and body balancing. This holistic background allows me to bring a multi-faceted approach to my therapy sessions with infants and their families. 

I do work with moms during pregnancy for various body balancing issues, and post partum I specialize in addressing depression and anxiety, through CranioSacral vagus nerve techniques, lymph drainage therapy, reflexology, as well as Healing Touch energy work to bring a balance between the parasympathetic and sympathetic systems.”
