โจ Fort Delimara is opening its doors once again for a full weekend of discovery!
On Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th March, visitors are invited to explore this spectacular Victorian fort through hourly guided tours, running from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Tours will start in Maltese and then alternate with English.
Perched on Delimara Point, Fort Delimara once formed part of a powerful ring of defence protecting Marsaxlokk Harbour. Built between 1876 and 1878, the fort is a fascinating example of military engineering, featuring a vast parade ground, barracks, underground passages, and impressive artillery. Four of its original 38-ton guns still stand in place and are the only surviving examples in the world on their original carriages.
This is a rare opportunity to discover first-hand the fortโs role in Maltaโs military history, from Victorian warfare to the Second World War, and to have an exclusive look at the ongoing restoration works that are bringing this remarkable site back to life.
Tickets need to be prebooked, either online at Store - Heritage Malta or from any Heritage Malta museum or site.
