- **Event Description**: Join the Jefferson County Greenways team for a wintry hike through Ruffner Mountain to celebrate the shortest day of the year! This family-friendly event will include a guided hike through the preserve to learn about all of the ways that native flora and fauna survive winter and prepare for spring. After the hike, warm up with a mug of hot chocolate or coffee and meet some of our animal ambassadors to find out more about how their adaptations help them through the coldest part of the year!

Be sure to bundle up, bring water (or a thermos of cocoa), and wear appropriate shoes for a hike!

Free for Jefferson County Greenways Members and $5 for non-members.
