About the event

The Folklore Pour - Fable Whisky Tasting
Fable Whisky blends bold single casks with dark folklore and killer artwork—whisky storytelling at its most deliciously dramatic.

Fable Whisky isn’t your typical independent bottler—they’re a wild mix of epic storytelling, bold cask-strength whiskies, and seriously cool design. Launched in 2020 by industry pros Andrew Torrance and Calum Lawrie, Fable took the chaos of the pandemic and turned it into a creative whisky adventure.

Their first release, The Ghost Piper of Clanyard Bay, is a whisky series wrapped in Scottish folklore. Each chapter in the tale is matched with a unique single cask dram from distilleries like Caol Ila, Linkwood, and Dailuaine. It's all unfiltered, natural colour, and bottled at cask strength—because why mess with greatness?

The bottles are brought to life by the eerie, striking artwork of Bolivian illustrator Hugo Cuellar, making every release feel like a collector’s item and a conversation starter.

In short: if you love whisky with a bit of drama, mystery, and a dark fairytale twist, Fable is one to watch (and sip).

Matt Chambers is a prominent figure in the whisky world, best known as the co-founder of the award-winning blog Whisky For Everyone. Matt just started working with Fable and bringing some exciting bottles for us to try!
We will be having whiskies from the second release - The Lost Keepers of Flannan Isles. This is a true story of the mysterious disappearance of three lighthouse keepers from the remote Flannan Isles lighthouse in 1900. No one knows what happened to them and when someone went to investigate they found dinner table set, a log book open and a canary singing in a cage. But no sign of the keepers …

The Pale Horse blended malt
Moore (Chapter Seven) – Auchentoshan 12yo
Lighthouse (Chapter One) - Linkwood 10yo
Marshall (Chapter Three) – Glen Elgin 9yo
Hesperus (Chapter Six) - Royal Brackla 8yo
