The presentation will reflect on lessons learned, common pitfalls, and emerging good practices, providing insights relevant to practising engineers, reviewers, and other stakeholders navigating an evolving regulatory landscape.What the Session Will CoverDavid will be offering a personal perspective on the structural engineering input to submissions made to the Building Safety Regulator (BSR). This is across two streams: ‘safety case reports’ for occupied Higher-Risk Buildings (HRBs), and structural engineering input of Gateway 2 building control submissions.David has been reviewing safety case reports against the structural criteria published by the BSR and has noticed a pattern of recurring problems.
