Specialism Specific OSFA Study Day
A specialism specific OSFA study day to help in preparation for the 2016 cohorts real life OSFA's.
This day will be split into two halves. The morning will consist of creating mock stations together that cover all the different modules included in the specialist curriculum (prenatal, paediatric, adult and somatic cancer). The stations created in the morning will be checked by an OSFA assessor after the event in order to ensure that they match scenarios that we are likely to encounter in the real OSFA. These will then be distributed to all attendees to form a pool of resources that can be shared.
In the afternoon, all trainees will sit three mock stations assessed by Clinical Scientists who will or have previously acted as assessors in the real OSFA. The trainees performance will be assessed, and they will be awarded a pass or fail mark with additional feedback where possible (marks to be distributed after the event). Whilst each trainee will sit only three stations, up to 14 stations will be available overall. Each of these 14 scenarios will be shared with the group following the event.
The day will conclude with a feedback session, where there will also be opportunity for trainees to discuss any stations they have sat and to go through answers.
