In response to the success of our previous ‘SysML Pub Quiz’ held in 2025, we are delighted to announce another one-day mini-event using the same informal pattern of delivery.
The event is intended to help engineers become more confident in the transition from textual to Model-Based Systems Engineering, using abstract but practical examples to demonstrate techniques and approaches.
The sessions are very-much designed to be hands-on, with high levels of audience participation, both with the subject matter, the tutors and with each other. They are also designed to be informal in style; fun whilst being educational. At Scarecrow we are great believers in the practical use of MBSE to build a better understanding, and the range of industries and opinions of attendees should enable opportunities for deeper insight. The more delegates engage, the more everyone is likely to learn.
Although it would be useful to have some prior SysML knowledge, this is not essential.
Info: Event registration. Networking and Ice-Breaker.
Info: Introduction to initial principles of Model-Based Systems Engineering and some of the SysML notation you will meet and/or need.
Exploration (with audience participation) of how to: • extract, from a textual description, stakeholders and their needs ; • identify structural elements, relationships and properties; • document behaviour of the system, both in its transactions with its external stakeholders and internally between major internal elements ; • document, reason and review an architecture and its representation in a (sketched) model of the design
No special tools are required, just pen and paper.
Info: Conclusion to the Modelling with SysML session.
Info: In this second session attendees will again split into teams and compete in a ‘SysML Pub Quiz’ (at the virtual “Scarecrow & Rabbit”) over a set of time-limited rounds through a different example model and its diagrams. The quiz is based around MBSE issues (many of which should have been identified, discovered or discussed during the morning session).
Info: The conclusion to The SysML Pub Quiz session.
Info: Wrap-up and ... prizes!
