In collaboration with LUSH UK and ROAR, we bring you all the S.A.S.S with our Self-Awareness Safety Sessions weekend masterclass.
We aim to create a safe space where we explore all things safety, both public and private, physical mental and emotional resilience, practical tools and tips and of course, some awesome self-defence techniques (maybe a few boxing ones too, just for good measure!)
It's all female space, with an intimate group of just 15 so spaces are limited! The cost you ask? Well, this is a little different to conventional ways. Our courses are the cost of a jersey and that's because our jersey sales from our website return 100% of the profits into our community. Here, we are able to fund workshops, training courses, resources, opportunities and equipment for young GirlDreamer's who do have access to these but have big dreams. Essentially, it's all one big cycle of empowerment!
Please ensure you read carefully:
1. Head to www.girldreamer.co.uk/shop
2. Purchase a jersey of your choice (please write SASS in the note box at the checkout).
If you choose to purchase off Eventbrite instead, we'll simply send you an email asking you to choose your jersey size and colour that we'll have that ready for you when you attend the course.
That's it! We'll then follow up with an email with all the key details you need to know for your SASS course.
Times:Satuday 23rd June: 10am - 5pmSunday 24th June: 10am - 3pm
P.s, we also hear the lovely LUSH UK (Birmingham) will be supporting with a few goodies for some important self-care post SASS. Aren't they great?!

Do I need any previous self-defence experience?
Not at all! This isn't about martial arts, it's about creating a whole-rounded view on safety with practical tools on how to do that out in the world. The facilitator is a very experienced badass with over a decade of experience, so all are welcome.
Do I need to be available all weekend?
Not particularly no. Of course, getting the full SASS experience is awesome but if you've got somewhere to be and maybe can't make all day on both days, just let us know. We recommend you aiming to make the first day and most of the material will be covered here. The second day is more of a refesher.
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Impact Hub Birmingham is within easy reach of the city centre. Bus stops are just a 5 minute walk away, Birmingham Moor Street station is just a 10 minute walk away and Grand Central station (New Street) is less than a 15 minute walk away. There's also ample free street parking and super cheap car parks right on the road.
Who are the facilitators?
The facilitators are both women. We've been asked this a lot as most self-defence courses are run by men for women but rest assure, this is by women for women. We got you.
How can I contact the organiser with any questions?
