- **Event Description**: Jump into a fun, fast-paced day of creating and performing a brand new play from scratch!About this EventJoin Sampad for a high-energy Play in a Day experience where young people aged 7 - 14 will devise, rehearse and perform their very own original theatre piece inspired by birthdays, presents, mischief and family chaos. Through games, improvisation and creative storytelling, participants will work together with professional artists to shape characters, scenes and ideas into a short performance full of humour, heart and imagination.At 3pm on the same day, participants will share their finished piece with family and friends, but the journey does not stop there.Participants will also have the exciting opportunity to perform their work as part of a curtain raiser for Sampad’s large-scale outdoor production taking place in the Arena at Midlands Arts Centre.The Play in a Day workshop will take place on Friday 28 August, with the Midsummer Masti performance taking place on the evening of Sunday 30 August.A complimentary ticket for Midsummer Masti will be offered on request to a parent/carer of a young person performing.Want to join our Summer School the Monday - Thursday before the Play in a Day?
