La Villa is a family-owned and operated farm producing some of the world’s most limited-release, traditional Parmigiano Reggianos. Unique and inimitable, 1944 is produced with the milk from two ancient breeds of Parmigiano Reggiano cows: red cows (vacche rosse) and brown cows (alpina bruna), yielding only 100 wheels a year! This organic, heritage cheese is salted with Sale Dolce di Cervia and branded only from April to October, when their cows are fed fresh grass.
