Level 1 part of BSOS TRAINING PATHWAY IN OCCLUSION
This 2 day theory / hands-on course is designed as an Introduction to why learning and understanding about occlusion is fundamental to ALL dentistry. Ideal for those with no previous occlusal training.
You will be guided through the basics and have an opportunity to implement some skills concepts in the laboratory on second day. Practical skills taught and put into practice to deliver a lower stabilization splint for a partner and have one made yourself.

Find out how to identify the signs and symptoms of occlusal disease.
Learn the basics and understand the best way to provide successful restorative, periodontal orthodontic treatment.
Be able to describe the basic principles of occlusion and how this relates to your patients mouths.
Build on that knowledge by learning new skills on the second day hands-on practical day.
Hands on practical you will learn:
Facebow registration and mounting of an upper model
Centric relation manipulation
Construction of an anterior jig
Use of a leaf gauge and CR records to mount a lower model
Construction of the lower stabilization splint on the mounted model.
Delivery of the stabilization splint to the patient
Participants will work in pairs so that at the end of the day they will have produced an appliance and be wearing one.
