Join the Headteachers’ Roundtable for a one day summit. Be part of an authentic educational voice; building ideas which will enable all people in our schools to thrive and flourish.

This year’s one-day policy and practice summit will focus on debating and finding solutions to the key issues challenging school and education leaders: insufficient funding, excessive accountability, poor retention and limited school autonomy & agency.

The summit is hosted by the Headteachers’ Roundtable, a think-tank which speaks with an authority rooted in our daily collective knowledge and understanding and the unique lived experience of leading our nation’s schools.  Our aim is to provide an authentic voice to government to challenge or support ideas which will enable all people in our schools to thrive and flourish.

If schools are to flourish in the next decade these issues must be systematically addressed.  This will mean abandoning much of the educational policy baggage of the first two decades of this century; the 2020s must be different.  Building on policy ideas from the Alternative Green Paper (November 2016), Schools that Enable All to Thrive and Flourish and the Doorstep Manifesto (May 2017), we aim to challenge and expose the damaging culture created by high stakes, cliff edge accountability; insufficient funding of schools and short-sighted, poorly evidenced policies.  Together we can thrive but only if we are thoughtful, bold and courageous in our thinking and approach to solutions.

The summit will include keynote speeches from high-profile school leaders and public official, alongside in-depth and practical workshops which will incorporate invaluable takeaways for attendees to implement in their own institutions.
