You'll meet police officers, including Chief Scott Grewe and therapy K9 Maple, and learn about their work to keep the community safe, with demonstrations, exhibits and interactive fun including:
• Evidence technician demonstration
• Drone demonstration
• Driving simulator and intoxication goggles experience
• Photo booth with police props
• BPD's Adopt a Senior program
• Michigan State Police Bomb Squad
• Oakland Community Health Network community mental health co-responders
• Comfort Canine/Therapy Dogs
• Dunk tank benefitting the Lucky Fin Project
• Simulated emergency passenger extraction from a vehicle by the Birmingham Fire Department
• Police and fire vehicle display
• Free BPD swag
• Free gun locks
• Prescription medication drop off
• Bicycle registration
Find the open house on Martin and Pierce streets around City Hall at 151 Martin. After you stop by, be sure to wander the rest of downtown for the Birmingham Shopping District's annual Day on the Town, featuring great sales and more from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
