- **Event Description**: Root to Rise is a deeply restorative day retreat at Monks Cottage, Wirral, offering space to slow down, settle the body and reconnect at the threshold between winter and spring.

This day is intentionally paced to support rest first, before energy begins to rise. Through gentle practices, guided rest, live sound and shared nourishment, you’ll be invited to ground deeply and meet the returning energy of spring with steadiness and ease.

The retreat includes an opportunity for a digital detox, Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra, calming breath practices, storytelling, a live sound journey with voice, guitar and gentle instruments, and a nourishing shared lunch. There will also be a gentle, accessible talk on the nervous system and polyvagal theory, offering simple insights to help you understand stress and rest in your own body. All practices are trauma-informed and offered with choice, care and permission throughout.

No yoga experience is needed. Everything is optional, and you’ll be guided gently and supported to move at your own pace. This day is especially supportive if you’re feeling tired, overwhelmed, or craving a softer, more grounded way into spring.

What to bring
A yoga mat, blanket, pillow, cosy socks and layers if you have them. A small number of spares will be available. Wear comfortable clothing you can relax in.
