'Mortimer Brewster, a prominent drama critic, stops by his aunts' home in Brooklyn to share some good news.
He expects a brief visit with the sweet, charitable women who raised him, and his eccentric, delusional nephew Teddy.
However, Mortimer soon makes a shocking discovery in the cellar that turns his world upside down, leading to a chaotic night as he desperately tries to manage his family's secrets and maintain his own sanity.'
