You will be part of real work, real communities and real change. Here are just some of the experiences included: • Support our parasite control program by helping distribute flea and worm treatments to village dogs and cats • Join our team at Mate’s Gift Elephant Land where you will harvest king grass, learn about elephant feeding and help local caretakers maintain the land • Take part in a multi village sterilisation program supported by your fundraising • Volunteer with Toba Animal Friends Sumatra who care for more than fifty dogs and seventeen cats and help with enrichment, feeding and general shelter work • Visit the Orangutan Haven and learn about their long term conservation and rehabilitation efforts • Walk through jungle and rivers, learning how to track wildlife and observe wild orangutans, gibbons, macaques, hornbills and more • Join locals in traditional cooking classes and herbal medicine making • Experience daily village life in Tangkahan, Bukit Lawang and Batu Katak through farming (not animal), craft and food traditions • Enjoy river tubing, elephant grassland visits, coconut harvesting and community led activities that reflect daily life in North Sumatra • Unwind at Lake Toba, visit heritage sites, explore the markets and enjoy time at one of the most peaceful places in the region Why join us This tour directly supports programs that cannot run without your involvement. Elephants eat up to 150 kilograms of food a day. By joining this tour, you help provide the grass that keeps them fed and support the families who care for them. Your presence in the villages strengthens our community relationships and helps keep our sterilisation clinics, parasite programs and animal welfare projects going. Your $1000 fundraising effort directly funds three sterilisation clinics across three different communities. It prevents unwanted litters, improves animal health and reduces the number of dogs captured or harmed due to overpopulation or fear. The more support we have, the more we can expand into neighbouring villages where the need is high. Every person who joins us becomes part of long term, sustainable change.
