SAINT JOESPH ALTAR – “A LABOR OF LOVE”

The Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary is proud to announce that the St. Joseph Altar will be on display at the Sacred Heart Center on Thursday, March 19, 2025, St. Joseph’s Day, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Lunch will be served at 12:00 p.m. (Noon).

The Saint Joseph altar originated in Sicily many centuries ago. During a period of drought, famine and starvation, the people turned to St. Joseph, asking for his help. Their prayers were answered; the rain came and the crops prospered. In Thanksgiving, families of farmers and fishermen built altars in their homes in honor of St. Joseph to share their prized possession, food.

Donations are appreciated. We invite all members of Nativity Parish, as well as all parishes and visitors along the Coast to view the Altar and have lunch with us. Mark your calendar and join us. Hope to see you there!
