Celebrate American Heritage with Pine Needle Basketry (Intermediate)
Take your basketry skills to the next level in this intermediate 3-hour class at the Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art. Designed for students with prior experience or those who have taken our beginner pine needle basketry class, this session will introduce advanced techniques including coiling variations, new stitching methods, and how to create lids.
Using longleaf pine needles and waxed sinew, you’ll craft a beautiful and unique 3″ to 5″ basket that reflects the rich traditions of American heritage crafts. This hands-on class celebrates nature, patience, and the art of hand-stitching with materials gathered from the forest floor.
All supplies will be provided by the instructor.
