Come join us for an exciting Alternative Firing Workshop at the Biloxi Center for Ceramics on the beautiful campus of the Ohr O’Keefe Museum of Art in historical Biloxi, MS.
Two legends of Southern Pottery:
Randy Brodnax of Marble Falls, TX
Don Ellis of Farmington, NM
Are joining us to provide 3 full days of instruction on a plethora of both traditional and modern alternative firing techniques.
In this hands-on workshop, Don and Randy will share every aspect of fast-fired pottery that only 85 years of knowledge can bring. They will demonstrate a variety of throwing, decorating and firing techniques. Firing will include copper matte, horsehair, low-fire salt firing using aluminum and clay saggars, naked raku, and mica firing.
This workshop is for all skills levels, don’t be intimidated if you are a beginner. There will be something new for everyone.
Please bring 10 small (8″x8″) grogged bisque pieces (Soldate-60 clay) or some will be available for purchase when you register. (no plates, platters or bowls)
Lunch will be provided, as well as snacks & beverages during the day.
Refunds less credit card fees are available up to 2 weeks before the workshop begins. After that period, the fee is non-refundable. However, you may transfer your ticket to a friend.
