An Enchanted Forest on the Village Green

One of the most loved days in the local calendar is almost here, and this year we're going full Enchanted Forest!

Join us on Bank Holiday Monday 4th May 2026 from 12 noon until 4pm on Plaistow Village Green for a brilliant afternoon of family fun, raising vital funds for Plaistow Preschool.

The afternoon kicks off with our preschool children performing the traditional Maypole dance, a moment that has been bringing the community together for over 40 years. After that, the green is yours to enjoy.

Here's what's in store:

🌿 Children's arena entertainment and gymnastics display
🌿 Face painting
🌿 Funfair rides and bouncy castle
🌿 Dog show and free agility course
🌿 Cake competition judged by L'Olivier of Billingshurst
🌿 Vintage cars and tractors on display
🌿 Live music all afternoon
🌿 Craft stalls, home bakes, plants and gifts
🌿 Raffle with brilliant prizes
🌿 Afternoon Teas in the village hall
🌿 BBQ by local butcher John Murray
🌿 Bar by Firebird Brewery

Children are warmly encouraged to come dressed as their favourite enchanted character, whether that's a fairy, a woodland creature or an elf!

Our MC for the day is the brilliant Adam Remnant, and our local MP Andrew Griffith will be joining us to officially open the fete.

Every penny raised goes directly to Plaistow Preschool, a community preschool nurturing local children for over forty years. Last year you helped us raise over £6,000. This year we are working towards brand new outdoor play equipment for the children.

Come for the maypole. Stay for the afternoon. We can't wait to see you there!
