Working Dog First Aid in the Field Workshop
It’s not often a working dog will get through its life without a few cuts and minor injuries. Occasionally something more serious happens.What ever happens, it helps to be prepared and informed.
Join Jody Barry BSc(Hons)RVN AdVNPN Dip CABT SQP ……. where she will be giving tailored advice on the specific situations which our working dogs face. She will also be providing first aid strategies which you can implement in the field to help manage some of the main injuries before reaching your vet and looking at the essential pieces of kit we should be carrying in our veterinary first aid bag.
Jodie is an Advanced Veterinary Nurse and Companion Animal Behaviourist, who practices locally and has particular expertise and interests in working dogs.
The workshop promises to be very informative with take home information, attendance certificate and some hands on practical opportunities for participants with three working dogs .
The Workshop will be split into two parts with a Tea/Coffee light refreshment break in between.
Session One:- Health & Wellness in Gundogs.
- Common medical conditions affecting gundog breeds, how to prevent them and how to check for symptoms.
BREAK
Session Two:- Practical First Aid for gundogs.
- Common accidents and medical emergencies affecting Gundogs, how to prevent, prepare and manage until you reach your vet.
