Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood

Yeah, you heard that right! Another superstitious date is quickly approaching, and that means, as always, that we will be treating you to another entry in the world's most iconic slasher film series! This time, we will be playing a special screening of John Carl Buechler's 1988 film, FRIDAY THE 13TH PART VII: THE NEW BLOOD, at Art House Cinema and Pub (not the Babcock this time due to some concerning structural issues!), Friday, June 13th!
Full of all the trademark shocks and gore you would hope for in a Voorhees movie, THE NEW BLOOD has an undeniable flair and character that bravely steps further into its high strangeness! Upping the ante and the elements of the fantastic (Zombies! Telekinesis! Improvisational death and violence!), THE NEW BLOOD is a boatload of gruesome fun that is playfully self aware of how much it has milked its own franchise without coming off as a parody of itself (yet!)! It's an excellent late night watch to see with some friends!
With the conclusion of Tommy Jarvis's 3-part battle against Jason (arguably the best part of the series) the now immortally zombified Voorhees remains chained in a watery grave at the bottom of Camp Crystal Lake. When a teenager with developing telekinetic powers named Lisa Shepard returns Crystal Lake, which was the site of her father's own drowning death, Lisa unknowingly uses her psychic powers to free Jason, allowing him to once again go on a relentless killing spree in the area! Tina's psychic potential is now the only thing capable of stopping the unkillable slasher's spree of carnage and killing him for good!
