Guadalupe Plata no son unos recién llegados aunque parezca que fue ayer cuando publicaron su primer Ep homónimo, un disco que marcó una clara directriz para nuestra banda underground más internacional: trabajo, militancia y una manifiesta pasión por los clásicos. Con estas premisas llevan funcionando los de Úbeda desde 2007, actuando en todos los espacios imaginables y editando canciones que han acabado cimentando seis álbumes sin título inflados con blues crepitante, psychobilly lisérgico y surf de ciencia ficción. Con ellos han acumulado el reconocimiento (un Premio Ojo Crítico, un Premio Impala y varios Premios de la Música Independiente) y actuado por diversos rincones del planeta (Reino Unido, Europa, Sudamérica, EE. UU.), llegando a convertirse en el capricho confeso del mismísimo Iggy Pop (la iguana no se ha cansado de lanzarles parabienes desde su programa de radio en la BBC).
