As part of Appledore Music Festival the  Michael Wright Quintet brings together the cream of North Devon musicians to The Beaver, Appledore on 25 May. The band will play an exciting  mix of African rhythms, funk grooves, classic Blue Note jazz, li-Life, and modern fusion to create a dynamic and unique sound. Audiences can expect a vibrant concert experience filled with infectious energy and engaging improvised interplay.
The group is led by bassist Michael Wright and  features two saxophone giants of the local scene, Emmanuel Segun and Jon Gillies. Completing the quintet will be  John Bangham, a respected keyboardist who has recorded in Abbey Road Studios, and Mike Reed , a celebrated drummer and composer for TV and film.
The gig will start at 8.30 p.m. And entry will be free (but a collection will be made for the musicians during the evening). For a meal booking phone The Beaver on 01237 474822.
