Building a BossAss Creative Business - The Leap of Faith
A word defining how totally awesome something is in a sense of being purely, utterly and ridiculously brilliant
Whether you are just starting out, growing your creative business, introducing a new product line, moving in a new direction or simply trying something different, there always comes that moment when you have to take The Leap of Faith.
It's mighty scary, jumping into the unknown. I know, I've been there, taken the gulp, held my nose and dived right in. It doesn't matter how much research or planning you've done. It doesn't matter if your business plan is 12 pages long with a great typeface and perfectly executed excel spreadsheets or scribbled on the back of an envelope with a half chewed pencil; the feelings and skills you have to muster are just as daunting. The doubts are just as crushing. The chasm before you is just as wide. But if you want a brilliant BossAss business you've gotta do it. You've got to take The Leap of Faith.
This is the theme of the first networking event for artists, makers and creative entrepreneurs. The event is about learning, sharing, connecting and being inspired.
I believe that if you want to grow your business then look to those you admire for inspiration, people who have built a BossAss business.
So I'm thrilled that the local legend that is James Webster from Josie's will be joining us as my very first inspirational Guest Speaker. If anyone has taken a giant Leap of Faith, it's James. He quit a very well paid job to follow his dream and open Josie's on Mill Street. He ignored the naysayers, trusted his well toned gut, stayed positive and true to himself ... all the while watching, learning, paying attention and growing his business. And then his gut told him to Be Bold and Go Big or Go Home. So he flipping well took another giant Leap of Faith and opened a 2nd mahoosive homeware emporium on Cooper Street. Was he scared. cause he flipping was. But he did it anyway. James is 100% BossAss and I have enormous respect for him as an entrepreneur. He also happens to be a very lovely chap too.
Come along and find out how he rose to the challenge. How he took The Leap of Faith over and over again. How did he wrestle with his doubts and find the inner strength and sheer bodacious chutzpah to feel the fear and do it anyway? What's in his inner tool kit that helped him face big challenges.
It's not all about James though. This event is your chance to think about your own creative business and where you'd like to take it. What's the Leap of Faith you're currently staring at and possibly sweating over? What can you learn from James' experience?Come along, be inspired and connect with other creatives in a safe and positive environment.
The Building a BossAss Creative Busines will be a monthly networking event with a theme and special BossAss Guest Speaker. The next will be September 13th.
