TGK Athletics winter basketball in-house league designed for grades K through high school. This league will aim to develop skills, promote teamwork, and ensure a fun and supportive environment.
Objective: To provide a structured, enjoyable basketball experience for youth, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and community engagement.
Age Divisions
- K-2nd: Lil Grinders (Focus on basic skills and fun)
- 3rd-5th: Youth League (Introduction to competition)
- 6-8: Middle School League (Skill development and team play)
- 9-12: High School League (Advanced competition and strategy)
Season Schedule
- Season Duration: December 4th to February 19th (10 weeks)
- Practices: - Once a week for each team (1 hour per session).
- Focus on fundamental skills, teamwork, and game strategies.
Games:
- Weekly games on weekends or weekday evenings.
- Round-robin format leading to playoffs for competitive divisions.
Team Composition:
- Teams formed based on skill levels. - For older divisions, a draft system to ensure balanced competition.
- Team Sizes: 8-12 players per team to allow for adequate playing time.

Coaching Staff - Coaches from local high schools, colleges, or community members. (NO PARENT COACHES)
Coaches will be focusing on:
- Basketball fundamentals - Positive reinforcement techniques - Safety protocols and first aid
- First aid kits will available during practices and games as well as an orthopedic doctor on site provided by our partners Saco Bay Ortho and physical therapy
- Background checks for coaches and volunteers.
- Clear conduct expectations for players, coaches, and parents.
End-of-Season Celebration
- Championship day featuring: - Playoff games for each age division.
- Awards ceremony to recognize players’ achievements (MVPs, sportsmanship awards).
- Community celebration with food, activities, and family fun.
