Built in 1927 by oil magnate Edward Laurence Doheny as a wedding gift for his son “Ned" Doheny and Lucy Smith of Pasadena, the location is recognizable as the backdrop for many films.

10:00 a.m. MEET on the south side of the parking lot at the stairs going down into the gardens.

12:30 p.m. RECONVENE at a location to be determined to share our work, do introductions and a group picture.

1:00 p.m. END

PARKING: Free in the parking lot above the estate. (The parking lot gate opens at 10 a.m.) 

BRING: Your favorite sketching gear, water, hat, folding stool, etc

PLEASE, PER THE VENUE’S REQUEST: No oil or acrylic paint! If using watercolors, please bring a drop cloth to keep color off surfaces. Also, keep stools on pavement to protect lawns.
