St. Philip's Blessing of the Pets

"Blessing of the Pets Day," more commonly known as the Blessing of the Animals, is a tradition inspired by St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals. Celebrated on or around his feast day, October 4th, the event involves religious ceremonies where pets and other animals are brought to a church or gathering to receive a special blessing. This tradition is rooted in St. Francis's deep love and respect for all of God's creatures, encouraging kindness and appreciation for nature and animals.
