What is Junk Journaling?
Junk journaling is an artful, expressive way to capture memories, thoughts, and everyday inspiration using “found” and repurposed materials. Think patterned papers, bits of packaging, old book pages, tags, envelopes, ticket stubs, vintage scraps, textures, fabrics -anything that tells a story. Pages become layered, tactile, and wonderfully imperfect. Each spread feels like a tiny time capsule.

What is Collage Journaling?
Collage journaling leans into the art of composition. You’ll build pages by arranging images, colors, textures, and snippets of paper to express a mood, idea, or moment. It’s intuitive, meditative, and surprisingly freeing - perfect for both beginners and seasoned creatives who want to unwind and explore.

What to Expect
This Open Studio night is intentionally unstructured. You work at your own pace, follow your own creative threads, and settle into whatever inspires you in the moment. Whether you’re starting a brand-new journal, adding to one you already love, or experimenting with pages just for fun, the space is yours.

You'll have access to an abundant supply bar filled with:
• Patterned papers
• Stickers and labels
• Ephemera & embellishments
• Scissors, punches, stamps, and cutting tools
• Adhesives & tapes
• Seasonal bits and surprise finds

I’ll be there to help you gather materials, answer questions, refill supplies, cheer you on, and keep the coffee bar stocked.

Who It’s For
Anyone craving a creative night out - no experience needed. Come solo for a quiet, cozy evening or bring a friend for shared inspiration. This night is all about exploration, connection, and giving yourself the gift of time to make something just for you.

Snacks & Sips: Feel free to bring your favorite snacks and drinks to enjoy while you create. The Studio is BYOB for guests 21+.

Parking: On street meter parking is available on Elizabeth Ave. Free on street parking is available on Chelsea Ave. Free lot parking is located behind the building.

Locating the Studio: We suggest entering the building from Ruch St. entrance (the back of the building). Use the elevator directly inside the building to the right. This is the only elevator that will take you to the 4th floor. If you enter the building from Elizabeth Ave, and take the elevator in the hallway, please note that the elevator only goes to the 3rd floor.

* A note about Sunday Classes - the Ruch St. (rear of building) entrance is closed on Sunday's. Please enter through the E. Elizabeth St entrance.*
