Every first Wednesday of the month, Annette Wasilik curates and hosts this showcase of the area's finest singer/songwriters at Hank Dietle's Tavern in Rockville, which has literally risen from the ashes and it looks, sounds and feels fabulous! $10-$20 Suggested donation for the artists.

Andy Cohen ~ Andy Cohen solved his retirement problem by doing so at the age of eighteen. Since then, some sixty years ago, he has trundled around the United States and Canada playing mostly one kind of Old Time Music or another on a dizzying battery of instruments: Guitar of course, a little banjo, and some keyboard instruments of various sizes- from the teeny Dolceola to the gigunda Steam Calliope. Now he owns one, God help him...

In the course of his life, this meandering wastrel did his best to get up with every old codger that played any kind of instrument. He is into 'old' for its own sake. Things don't wear out from use; they wear out from lack of use. He's rescued instruments all his life, spending more money on luthiers than food or clothing. 

Old for its own sake is his watchword. He plays old songs on old instruments, drives an old car, lives in an old house and he's old. 

Nicole Belanus ~ Nicole Belanus is a northern Virginia based singer/songwriter whose eclectic musical taste is revealed in her songwriting.  Using her guitar and voice, she delivers a blend of soul-folk-rock and a strong vocal performance with memorable melodies for fans of Joni Mitchell and Shawn Colvin. Nicole has recorded five albums of original music and will be returning to the studio in 2026 to record a new album of music. Lynn Hollyfield ~ Lynn Hollyfield is an award-winning Singer-Songwriter who started playing guitar at age 10 and wrote her first song in High School at the prompting of her English teacher. She has been performing ever since.  Her songs are written in a contemporary folk style but she often slips in jazz chord progressions or some bluesy guitar chops to support her warm, alto vocals. Think Mary Chapin Carpenter meets Bonnie Raitt, playing a classic Gershwin tune with a down home feel. Lynn is working on her 6th album with producer, Seth Glier, for release in 2026. Annette Wasilik ~ "Love & Fire is a masterpiece." ~ Tom Prasada-Rao

Annette's performances are marked by her compelling alto and moving songs that "touch you to the bone". In the tradition of the poet songwriter, with rich tones reminiscent of Linda Thompson or Natalie Merchant, she weaves a spell both startling in its intimacy and expansive in its vision. Her songwriting influences include Jane Siberry, Lucinda Williams and John Prine to mention just a few. Both down to earth and deeply atmospheric, Annette’s songs are explorations into longing, love, loss, God, home, homesickness and hope.
Annette's debut CD, Songs from the Talking House, was awarded Contemporary Folk Recording of the Year by the Washington Area Music Association in April 2016. She also won Honorable Mention for her song Don't Look Down in the 2016 MidAtlantic Song Contest. Her January 2020 release, Love & Fire, is her first album on the Azalea City Cooperative label. On release, it landed at #6 on FAI Folk DJ chart and #1 on the NACC chart and ended up #40 for the year. 

In 2019, Annette created a new concert series, Local Cream, to showcase the best local and regional songwriters and co-hosts a popular monthly songwriting circle. In the spring of 2022, her song "Almost" was a finalist in The Great American Song Contest and won "Outstanding Achievement in Songwriting" Award. In 2025 her song "Horizon Line" won finalist in the MidAtlantic Song Contest.
