- **Event Description**: Ditch your smartphones and digital cameras for the weekend and come create some timeless, tangible works of art! Alternative Image-Making is an exploratory workshop series that introduces participants to the magical world of alternative process photography. Students will learn a variety of unique, historical photo processes that do not require cameras, negatives, or a traditional darkroom, such as Lumen printing, Cyanoptype, Chemigraph, Polaroid emulsion lifts, and Cliche' verre. Images will be created from foraged botanicals, recycled garbage, scrap materials, various light sources, and LOTS of experimentation. Alternative Image-Making will give participants a deep understanding of the fundamental role light plays within the photographic medium, and the opportunities for image making that exist outside the digital realm.

No experience in photography necessary - Creative minds and playful sensibilities are mandatory. Must be at least 14 years of age to participate.
