Joining guitarist/singer Dag Juhlin (Expo’76, Courtesy Patrol, Poi Dog. Pondering) and bassist Jackie Schimmel (Justin Roberts, Tiny Bit of Giant’s Blood) is drummer Gerald Dowd (every other band in town). The band has a clutch of newly written material that takes the soaring, urgent pop of their two highly-acclaimed LPs (Blue Music and Work & Love) to newer and even more powerful heights.The Dry Look is Leslie Wall-Santos (drums), Kevin Brady (bass/vocals), and Mike Ritt (guitar/ vocals). They infuse their wry, harmony-soaked originals with an off-the-cuff energy that pays tribute to their pub rock/mod/jangling new wave influences. They’re also known for peppering their sets with well-chosen, not-so-obvious covers.The Purcells are Al Hennagir (guitar/vocals), Bill Goodwyn (bass/vocals), and Don Yanek (drums), and they’re currently at work on their second LP. Their strummy indie pop summons the sparkling warmth of bands like The Clean and The Go-Betweens, and brings the aesthetic of classic ‘80s jangle pop into the here and now.A “Trio of Trios” for one big night only.
