SMA Chronic Absence Workshop
Southern Melbourne Area has invited guest speaker Glenn Melvin to broaden our collective understanding of why students refuse school and strategies schools can use to develop effective return to school plans. Glenn works in the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences at Monash University as a Senior Lecturer and is an expert on Chronic Absence.
This workshop is designed to support Southern Melbourne Area school Attendance Improvement Teams to develop action plans to identify and support students who are chronically absent. School based Attendance Improvement Teams will use the data they have collected about their chronically absent students to develop action plans to support students with the issues identified.
