Buckle in for a rollercoaster ride through the hidden history of Luna Park. In this conversation, journalist and author Helen Pitt explores stories of the schemers, showmen, dreamers and powerbrokers who built and fought over Sydney’s most iconic amusement park, captured in her latest book Luna Park.

Spend an afternoon wandering the historical mirror maze of this iconic landmark with a master storyteller. From the engineering feats of its construction in the dark days of the Depression to the tragic deaths of six boys and a father in the 1979 Ghost Train fire, discover the extraordinary stories behind the harbour’s most mischievous grin.

Hosted by Gritty Lit, this series brings together authors, writers, and storytellers for an afternoon of criminally curious conversations exploring True Crime, Hidden Histories and, 

Held monthly between May and August 2026, at the Gerroa Boat Fishermans Club, each month will feature a new storyteller ready to dive into some of Australia’s most fascinating criminal and historical stories.
