This 3-week intensive invites practitioners to explore fundamental cornerstones of the pedagogy of Jacques Lecoq, one of the most influential European reference points for theatre and performance makers during the second half of the 20th and early 21st century.
Led by Thomas Prattki, founder of arthaus.berlin and the TPC, and former pedagogical director of the Ecole Jacques Lecoq in Paris, you will have the unique opportunity to revisit or get an initial taste of Lecoq’s approach to the role of playfulness, embodiment through movement and voice, archetypal dynamics and creative autonomy, in art and life.
Each of the three weeks explore a different theme, from the numinosity of the Neutral Mask to the concept of the Poetic Body, from storytelling to the tragic space, from the Trickster to the clown state. You will be invited to find beauty in the Banal, and the Numinous in the Ordinary.
Whether you are a film maker or a dance choreographer, a director or writer, a musician or fine artist, whether you are already an established artist or at the beginning of a career, whether you wish to take time for professional development or just a time out for a playful journey into the world of your own deeper wild nature, this intensive wishes to meet you and what you seek at this moment in your professional and personal life.
