Auf handgemachten Plakaten und Flyern wurden gleich für 4 Samstage Konzerte unter dem Titel „Klassizistische Vulgärfolklore und obsessive Ethnomystik“ beworben.Das Publikum wusste also absolut nicht, was es von dieser Band zu erwarten hatte, genauso wenig, wie die 2 Musikerinnen und 5 Musiker absolut nicht wussten, was sie vom Publikum zu erwarten hatten. Der 1. Song: Schnaftl Ufftschik - eine Eigenkomposition des Akkordeonisten Rolf „Cello“ Fischer -wurde genauso gefeiert wie die Fischersche Erklärung zu dem Stück über den gutmütigen Westsibirischen Waldkobold, der blondzöpfige Mädchen beim Wasserholen beschützt und der Schnaftl noch heute Inspiration und Motivation zugleich ist. Sammelt er doch weiterhin überall wo er mit der Transsibirischen Eisenbahn so hinkommt Musik, von Wladiwostok, über Buenos Aires, Dublin, Saba, Brunleby …Auch wenn es anfangs hieß, Schnaftl Ufftschik mache zu viel Kopf- und zu wenig Beinmusik, räumte die Band gleich mal einige Titel ab - 1996 den Preis „Musica Vitale“ für Berlin-Brandenburg, 1997 den „Deutschen Folkförderpreis“ und 1998 war man Gast auf dem Pariser „Festival für Imaginäre Musik“.Trotz anfänglicher Besetzungs-Turbulenzen begann ein immenser Schaffensprozess mit verschiedensten Bühnenprogrammen, der Zusammenarbeit mit nationalen und internationalen Künstlern und der Mitwirkung an Theaterprojekten. Insgesamt 6 CD-Produktionen sind kein ganz kleiner Beleg dafür.
