PAL is a woman-fronted punk band led by drummer Maureen Joyce. She takes on the synth in this minimalist, high-energy new wave project alongside Jake Schott (guitar), Adam Atkinson (bass), and Mario Slagle (drums). Based in Cleveland/Akron, PAL leans into its weirdo roots and takes inspiration from hometown heroes like DEVO and The Waitresses, writing songs with melodies that people are finding “dangerously addictive.” PAL is a new, vibrant group that’s more than ready to make a name for themselves in the world of punk.

Channeling the soul of an ethereal, obscure minimalist striving for immense, illuminating moments, Uzi reveals the sheer contrast between his ruthless hyper-punk-kiddo by nature and tender, delicate personality. The compositions are live, radiant, and ready to go—cued on samplers and Casio keyboards at his fingertips, stitched together and performed without ever really knowing what will emerge.
