Dirar Kalash is a Palestinian musician and sound artist whose work spans a wide range of musical and sonic practices within a variety of instrumental, compositional and improvisational contexts. He is mostly known for his politically driven soundscape / electro-acoustic project "The Sonic Front", and the compositions "we can't breathe (for eric garner, george floyd, and frantz fanon)" and "by any means necessary (for Malcolm X)"

Alongside his work in sound and music; Kalash is also a researcher and an educator within interdisciplinary intersections of sound, literature, memory, experience, and everyday life in Palestine, in the framework of "politics of space of time"

Dirar Kalash ist ein palästinensischer Musiker und Klangkünstler, dessen Werk ein breites Spektrum musikalischer und klanglicher Praktiken in einer Vielzahl instrumentaler, kompositorischer und improvisatorischer Kontexte umfasst. Er ist vor allem für sein politisch motivierte Klanglandschafts-/Elektroakustikprojekt „The Sonic Front“ und die Kompositionen „We Can’t Breathe (für Eric Garner, George Floyd und Frantz Fanon)“ und „By Any Means Needed (für Malcolm X)“

Bekannt neben seiner Arbeit im Bereich Klang und Musik ist Kalash auch Forscher und Pädagoge an den interdisziplinären Schnittstellen von Klang, Literatur, Erinnerung, Erfahrung und Alltag in Palästina im Rahmen der „Politik des Raums der Zeit“
