How is climate (in)justice connected to (neo)colonialism? The environmental impacts of wars, the rise of fossil imperialism as a political power and the control over resources on occupied land prove that everything is linked to everything. 

Colonialism is not a thing of the past. It is a current economic reality. Colonial methods focus not only on destroying the infrastructure and people's lives, but also their natural habitat. This is a tactic of warfare and genocide is therefore connected to ecocide.

Join us on the 12th of June 2026 for the opening day of the 8th Aus der Nacht heraus Film Festival. Together we will explore the lasting harm of (neo)colonial practices and discover how activists around the world are resisting injustice and fighting for change.
