Braake — das ist eine fünfköpfige Gestalt, die mit sicheren Schritten eine dunkle Nebenstraße des deutschen Pop hinaufgelaufen kommt. Vom Folk und Rock der 70er wurden sie inspiriert, etwas Kraut und Sand weht ihnen hinterher. An Gitarre, Bass und Schlagzeug, wo sich Benno Bings, Till Schomburg und Gregor Zenns in ihrer Stadtrandjugend kennenlernten, blieben sie auch sitzen. Eine schwer greifbare Lethargie und verkappte Wut ist Braake von dem Abend auf dem Schuldach, an dem ein erster Song zusammengesetzt wurden, bis heute geblieben. Mit Camillo Kießig fädelte sich eines Tages eine zweite Gitarre in die Songs, so kunstvoll, dass man elaboriert sagen möchte. Und mit Julian Colin kommt zu guter Letzt ein Produzent, dessen untrügliches Gespür für diese spezielle Musik ihn vor ne überkippen ließ in die nun vollständige Band. Was da aus Braake zu uns spricht, ist ein unaufdringlich anziehender Eigensinn: Ein Faden, den man unwillkürlich zwischen den eigenen Finger n wiederfindet — gesponnen aus trockener Einsicht, beiläufigem Trotz und poetischer Phantasie. Und wir werden sagen: Bitte, danke, willkommen. Ja natürlich! Und: Wie war das nochmal?
