Each session combines warm-up, improvisation, and gentle somatic integration.Core principles:Move without judgment, surprise yourself, and stay authentic. Every task is an invitation — take what fits, leave what doesn’t. Care for yourself and others, in body and mind.What and why we are going to practice:Physical awareness to shift the focus from our busy mind to the sensations of the body. Movement improvisation is a skill that bring flexibility, curiosity and joy to life outside the class. Partner and group activities help to listen to yourself deeper and to communicate with the others on a different, non-verbal level.Class structure:Warm-up (30 minutes). Focus on the body, exploring the theme of the evening.Movement lottery (40 minutes). Participants write down their movement/body-based expectations and suggestions on little notes. The facilitator improvises movement exercises based on these anonymous wishes.Cool-down (20 minutes). Soft somatic practice for integration.Ongoing theme:We will explore connections within the body — areas that influence each other’s position and state. We will move from intuitive connections to more subtle and surprising ones, gradually building sensitivity and the ability to notice your body’s fine-tuned adjustments.Schedule (subject to adjustment based on the wishes and dynamics of regular participants):? Sept 2 – Right shoulder and left hip joint? Sept 9 – Left shoulder blade and right side of the waist? Sept 16 – Back of the head and base of the spine, from crown to tail, balancing top and bottom? Sept 23 – Dancing in the Dark (once a month we hold a special jam to mark the end of the month and integrate our discoveries via free movement)? Oct 7 – Butt and deep lower back? Oct 14 – Collarbone and shoulder blade, flying arms and open chests? Oct 21 – Pectoralis major and latissimus dorsi. No worries if your Latin is rusty: these are just the biggest back and front muscles of the torso? Oct 28 – Dancing in the Dark? Nov 4 – Soles of the feet and diaphragm? Nov 11 – Ankle joints and neck? Nov 18 – Jaw joint and knees? Nov 25 – Dancing in the Dark
