Ein Ensemble, das Berlin und London verbindet, präsentiert präsentiert As yet untitled, ein sich fortwährend entwickelndes Werk von Bex Burch. Mit Laurel Pardue, Tamar Osborn, Johannes Schleiermacher, Lukas Akintaya und Luca Curcio entsteht die Arbeit seit Mai 2025 in einem gemeinsamen Prozess, geprägt vom kontinuierlichen Austausch und der besonderen Offenheit der Berliner Musikszene.

Zwischen komponierten Strukturen und individueller Freiheit, versteht sich As yet untitled weniger als festgelegte Komposition denn als lebendiger Prozess und lädt sowohl die Musiker*innen als auch das Publikum zu konzentriertem Zuhören, Reagieren und ein Vertrauen, das sich zwischen den Musiker*innen und dem Publikum entfaltet. Klang, Geste und Präsenz verweben sich zu einer gemeinsamen Erfahrung, in der die Grenzen zwischen individuellen Stimmen allmählich in etwas Kollektives übergehen.

Die Berliner Aufführung bildet den Auftakt von Four nights, einer Reihe, die sich über vier Städte und zwei Kontinente erstreckt, und in London im Cafe OTO (29.6.), im Constellation, Chicago (10.7.) sowie mit FourOneOne, New York (31.7.) fortsetzt. Jede Ausgabe denkt das Stück im jeweiligen lokalen Kontext neu und bildet so eine Konstellation von Begegnungen, die über den einzelnen Moment hinausweist.

Zwischen Struktur und Improvisation, Wiederholung und Auflösung verbindet As yet untitled natürliche Klänge, musikalische Sprache und die Präsenz der Anwesenden. Im Kern steht ein erweitertes Verständnis von Zusammenarbeit, das über das Ensemble hinaus in den Raum, ins Publikum und in die Gemeinschaft hineinwirkt.

An ensemble connecting Berlin and London performs As yet untitled, an evolving work by Bex Burch. Featuring Laurel Pardue, Tamar Osborn, Johannes Schleiermacher, Lukas Akintaya and Luca Curcio, the piece has been unfolding collaboratively since May 2025, shaped through ongoing exchange and the particular openness of Berlin’s musical community.

Balancing composed structures with individual freedom, As yet untitled is less a fixed composition than a living process, one that invites deep listening, responsiveness and trust between performers and audience alike. Sound, gesture and presence interweave into a shared experience, where the boundaries between individual voices begin to dissolve into something collective.

The Berlin performance forms the first chapter of Four nights, a series unfolding across four cities and two continents, continuing at Cafe OTO, London (June 29), Constellation, Chicago (July 10), and with FourOneOne, New York (31 July). Each iteration reconfigures the piece through its local context, creating a constellation of encounters that extend beyond a single moment or place.

Moving between structure and improvisation, repetition and disruption, As yet untitled brings together natural sound, musical language and the presence of those gathered. At its core lies an expanded notion of collaboration, one that reaches beyond the ensemble itself and into the space, the audience, and the wider community it inhabits.
