In a city famous for its nightlife, freedom, kebabs, and commitment issues, two women in Berlin’s growing offline dating movement are teaming up to help people date better by hosting the first-ever Berlin Dating Weekender — a vibrant new event encouraging authentic, face-to-face connection in the digital age.

The Weekender is the brainchild of Lulu Johnson (datinginberlin.com), acclaimed author of Dating in Berlin and host of the podcast Dating, Laughter & Disasters, and Annika (@overdated.berlin), founder of Overdated, the well-known dating event offering a new way to meet people in the modern dating era. Together, they’ve been redefining how singles meet — creating spaces that move beyond endless swipes, ghosting, and algorithmic love.

A New Philosophy on Love & Connection

The founders share a clear vision: the apps have reshaped how we approach dating — and not always for the better. Instead of building bonds, app culture has created a disposable dating culture, leaving many feeling lonely and disconnected.
