About the Presenter
Jolyn is the Owner/CEO of African Expressions by Jolyn. She is a cultural specialist and African dance instructor for: Kwanzaa, Black History Month and Juneteenth. Born and raised in NYC, and a lifelong dancer, she began to teach African dance at a private high school in 1990, over 30 years ago. Jolyn studied dance in Ghana, West Africa as well as through the African American Cultural Center at Yale and served as director for liturgical and African Dance networks. As a lifelong learner, she continues to sharpen her skills. Jolyn has led African dance and cultural celebrations from Vermont through Delaware. For Jolyn, sharing her cultural heritage through African dance is a way of life.
