Let's Walk - Introduction to Tring Reservoirs

Tuesday 22nd April 2025 @ 4.30pm

Duration: 1.5 hours

Start point and end: Marsworth/Startop’s End Reservoirs Car Park (Postcode HP23 4LJ; What3Words reprints.mulled.lanes) next to WatersEdge Café. 

Car Park cost is £3 for 3 hours, £4 all day.



The walk, run by Canal & River Trust, will be led by volunteer walk leaders who are full of interesting information about the local area.

Please join us for a fun leisurely walk along the canal. You'll learn a lot and meet new people!

We'll cover the history of the industrial heritage; the local birdlife, flora and lichens.

A led walk starting and ending at Marsworth/Startop’s End Reservoirs Car Park. We will walk up to the reservoirs and along the Grand Union canal. Along the way we will explain how the reservoir and canal system work, and hope that a boat or two comes along so we can see the canal lock operation. There’s also lots of birdlife. 

This is a very gentle walk, of just over one mile. A great introduction to just being in nature.


Suitable for families with children that are able to walk – not suitable for pushchairs or strollers (Parents must accompany their children). Not suitable for mobility scooters or wheelchairs.

Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome.


The great thing about walking is that you do not need any fancy equipment. Please just wear comfortable shoes and bring a jacket if raining.
