🎬 Join Us for a Special Screening of The Prison Within! ✨
We’re excited to invite our community to a powerful screening of The Prison Within — a documentary that showcases the heart of our work. The film follows the stories of individuals incarcerated in San Quentin State Prison as they embark on deep restorative justice processes, confront the roots of harm, and engage in the challenging work of accountability and healing. It also highlights the experiences of survivors of violence and the ways in which restorative practices can create pathways toward repair.
Insight Prison Project, in partnership with UC Berkeley’s Restorative Justice Program, will be hosting this event to further the conversations we hold every day: healing, transformation, and what true accountability can look like within the carceral system.
The evening will begin with refreshments and time to connect, followed by the film screening. A facilitated panel will close the night, featuring VOEG graduates and survivors who will share their lived experiences and reflections from their journeys inside California prisons. This is also a great opportunity for anyone interested in learning more about becoming a VOEG facilitator — we’ll have a sign-up sheet for those who want to get involved. As our VOEG program continues to grow, we’re excited to welcome more people to support its expansion.
