Take your Hand Sewing to the Next Level with Cynthia Howell
Are you intimidated at the concept of sewing an entire garment by hand? Do you want to know which stitching techniques save the most time? Come practice construction techniques on mini garments and learn the techniques and stitches necessary to make a hand stitched garment.
Instructor Biography:Cynthia has been sewing since she was 7 and decided her dolls needed the latest fashions. Her favorite historic periods are; 16th C, 18th C and Victorian. She loves the zen of hand sewing and constructing a living garment. Cynthia has taken multiple garment construction workshops in Williamsburg, VA and has constructed a variety of garments by hand.Students should bring:Scissors or snips, pins, pincushion, and a thimble if desired.Instructor Provides:Needles, thread, beeswax and small scale garments.Practicalities:There will be a lunch break during this class. You may bring your lunch or there are several fast food options nearby.
Tickets to GBACG activities ARE NOT REFUNDABLE, but are transferable. Purchasing tickets to a GBACG activity is the same as buying tickets to the Symphony, Ballet, or Theatre. If you have purchased tickets to a GBACG activity and are unable to attend, you may sell your tickets to someone else, but GBACG does not make refunds.
